List Of Compiled Chameleon Builds

I’ve compiled a couple of Chameleon Builds for your use. This includes modifications from a lot of talented developers and I’ve compiled it for you and made them all in one place that you may able to get it. For those of you who do know me from PearPC era , think of it as prasys’ pearpc builds , whereby I compile and post.
The reason why i am posting this is that not all of us do have the time to compile , however if you are interested in compiling Chameleon , you may read my guide here . I’ve covered all the basics and everything else on how to get started if you would like the hands-on approch. Nevertheless , there is always something for everyone. So now , lets back to our topic , shall we ? (more after the jump)

I’ve compiled 4 builds from various developers such as andyvand , diebuche , JrCs , and rekursor. If you want my own build , just head over to my compiled pc_Efi 10.6 and you’ll have it . If you’re wondering where to get it , simply just click this link. I’ve also included their changes in plain english , however if you wish to get full list of changelog , you may do so by clicking here.
These builds are compiled as of 27th of February 2009 (+8 GMT). I’ll try my best to keep these builds up to date.
andyvand’s build  – Download

  • This build mainly focuses on ACPI related stuff. Andy did a great job which allows us to drop a lot of ACPI tables and allows us to use customised ACPI table. He has also has included Intel GMA automatic injector and a lot of other stuff as well. But to make it simple , his build focuses on ACPI related stuff , so if you want to have freedom of customising your own ACPI table , do give this build a shot. Its not recommended for the faint of heart !

Diebuche’s Build – Download

  • Includes a lot of new stuff especially for Intel Graphics users and he has started working on ATI Mobility users to get native resolution support. He has also added EDID support that allows us to get native resolution while on pre-boot (aka on spinning apple logo) , which makes it look more like a mac.

JrCs’ Build – Download

  • There is nothing much to talk about this build other then using cleaner or better method of doing things. You can say that its like having a smooth landing rather then a rough landing. There is not much to talk about as in additional features

Rekursor’s Build – Download (Recommended)

  • By far , this build has a lot of goodies. For instance Rekursors Build allows you to reboot/shutdown natively without the need of kexts such as OpenHaltRestarter or EvoRebooter (again it requires some fiddling around with DSDT , which I’ll post later on how to do that). Apart from that Rekursor has also included automatic memory detection and memory module integration . There is just too much to talk about this build. But in short if you’re looking for the greatest and the latest , give this a shot

Installing the boot loader
Its fairly simple to install the boot loader. I’ll explain , dont worry. I’ve covered for those who are using EFI and those who are using myHack or traditional chameleon installer which installs on the root of the drive
For myHack/Traditional Chameleon Users , kindly click here and scroll down to read on how to install boot loader manually
For those who are using EFI partition , kindly mount your EFI partition (manually or with a script) and replace the boot file
