OSX 10.6.1 and Hackint0sh

Generally Snow Leopard 10.6.1 works , if you’ve followed my method. All you have to do is run it from Software Updater. Do not worry as it doesn’t update the kernel , the kernel is still version 10.0.0. So those of you who are using modbins patched kernel for AMD/Intel Pentium D/4 , you may still continue to use this update.
According to netkas, you’ll have to edit some of your kexts for ATI 48xx users. Do check it out. As for NVIDIA Users , it seems that Apple has updated graphics drivers and it seems to smoother for me. I’m not sure about you !

  1. For NVidia, it looks smoother indeed. I upgraded without issues from 10.6(10.5.6 -> 10.6 10A432 -> update to 10.6.1).
I didn’t have to reinstall any kexts or anything else. Software update modified among other extensions : NVDAResman, NVDANV50Hal. I had my deviceid in there.
The upgrade also didn’t mess with com.apple.boot.plist.
    OS : Snow Leopard 10.6.1 (from 10A432)
System : ASUS P5K-VM , (EFI String/NVInject/VoodooHDA/LegacyYukon/AHCI in bios, no DSDT patch), Intel Quad Core [email protected], Memory 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Nvidia 9600GT, 300GB hard drive
Boot arguments : boot-uuid and arch=x86_64 and EFI string
